The Story

From the genius of Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, In The Heights) and Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q) comes a high-energy celebration of friendship, ambition and fierce competition.

At the heart of the story is Campbell, cheer royalty at Truman High School, whose senior year takes an unexpected turn when she is redistricted to the rival Jackson High. Stripped of her title and thrown into unfamiliar territory, she must rebuild her team from the ground up. With the help of the school’s dynamic dance crew and their fearless leader Danielle, Campbell seeks redemption at the National Cheer Championships.

Featuring music by Pulitzer and Tony Award winner Tom Kitt (If/Then, Next to Normal), and lyrics by Broadway’s Amanda Green (High Fidelity.)
